Bartley Lodge Wedding – Sam & Carl

I consider myself quite lucky that most of my clients find by way of recommendation. Quite often it’s a verbal recommendation but regularly I gain a new customer after they’ve been a guest at a wedding I’ve photographed. This was a prime example of the latter where I have photographed the wedding of both of Sam’s bridesmaids.

After photographing the girls getting ready I popped down the road to cover the mayhem that was unfolding with the boys. Things seemed quite relaxed at first until the Best Man, Martin, realised he had lost the rings. There were smirks galore amongst the rest of the groom’s men. What seemed like a game of bluff as to which of the Ushers had hidden them, but the truth was he really had mislaid them. Having photographed Martin’s wedding also, I thought the familiarity was going to lead to a body check.

Eventually the rings appeared, on the shelf near the back door of course, and the boys strolled down to Millbrook Trinity Church.

All the guests arrived armed with umbrellas. Sam arrived, looking stunning, and she walked down the aisle with her Dad in what seemed like slow motion. For reasons not written, it was incredibly emotional for many of the guests.

After the ceremony and a visit from a chimney sweep; Sam, Carl and their guests made their way for their Bartley Lodge wedding reception. A few group photos were taken, a couple of portraits and then it was onto the wedding breakfast; an amazing feast of a BBQ. The speeches followed the wedding breakfast and were finished with Martin giving an excellent performance.

The day was so perfectly planned, even though the weather tried to hamper things, a fantastic time was had by all at their Bartley Lodge wedding.

Thank you Sam & Carl for hiring me to photograph your wedding day and I hope to see you both at a wedding or two in the near future.
